Corgi Gift Set 41 Carrimore Car Transporter with Ford Tilt Cab. Very scarce Mail Order only set from Corgi. Complete with card over-sleeve. Near mint-very, very near mint/boxed. From The 'Monty Calme' Corgi Collection.
Notes
A sought-after and scarce Gift Set issued between 1966-68 and only available by Mail Order at the time.
This exciting and colourful set comprises:
1) Corgi 1138 Ford Car Transporter in red, blue & silver.
Near mint with the occasional little chip. Straight horns on the roof. Both wing mirrors are intact and complete with the little mirror pieces too. Minor split to one of the red plastic chocks.
2) Corgi 226 Morris Mini Minor in pale lilac blue with a red interior. Very very near mint.
3) Corgi 249 Morris Mini Cooper in red & black with ‘wickerwork’ side detail. Very near mint with complete wickerwork panels. Lustrous finish and jewelled headlights. Two little chips at the front bumper.
4) Corgi 251 Hillman Imp in metallic bronze. A scarce Corgi model – especially with unbroken suspension! Near mint plus (a few little chips at a wheel arch and one on a door panel, couple of little marks besides).
5) Corgi 252 Rover 2000 in metallic deep plum. Very near mint with a wonderful lustre.
6) Corgi 321 Austin Mini-Cooper in red with roof signatures of Timo Makinen and Paul Easter. Another very desirable Corgi car in sparkling very near mint condition! Complete transfers all-round (not even a centre-line rub on the bonnet transfer). All four jewelled lights and no rubbing to the crisp and clean all-important roof signatures.
7) Corgi 440 Ford Cortina Estate in metallic blue. Very near mint example with a sleek barely handled finish. Bright chrome (faint rubs at the bumpers, if you look closely enough!). Jewelled headlights.
All contents are housed in a polystyrene tray which is very clean, bright and complete. Only the most minor wear. Complete with Corgi label with dog logo still in place.
The colourful card lid has certainly benefitted from being housed in the plain card over-sleeve for all these years.
Colours are day-one bright and fresh! Minimal wear only to the card, although there is some glue residue from an old price label in the bottom corner and a very small stain to one side of the lid (not the picture face).
Outer card sleeve is clean and intact, with minor ruffling at edges.
A superb and all-original set straight from a discerning collector’s private collection. Not an easy find.
