C216M
Corgi 216M Austin A.40 Saloon. Rare. Near mint plus/boxed, with early Corgi Club Membership Form. Red & black issue (mechanical) with flat spun wheels. Scarce model from The 'Monty Calme' Corgi Collection.
Notes
This is a scarce early Corgi mechanical car – so hard to find, especially in this condition. In red with a black roof and flat hubs, this model with a flywheel motor (works well) was made for a short time only between 1959-60. The car has a lovely, gleaming, all original paint finish.
Well-shaped original tyres. Note a little rubbing to the wheel finish (due to the application of the period wheel stickers available from Corgi, which have since been removed).
A few near-microscopic dots on the roof and a tiny mark or two to the red paint finish. Corgi period accessory label (tax disc and ‘Running In’ label) have been applied.
The blue and yellow picture box is complete, bright. One small end flap seam tear. Period price at an end flap. Correct early ‘Moorgate’ Corgi Club Membership Form is included.
