This collector wanted only the best examples ? always a discerning buyer of the finest models he could find. After over 25 years, he has now decided to part with items from his own extensive collection. This is one of them.
This is a transition issue model, renumbered from 582 to 982 during 1955. It has a mid blue cab and hubs, with a paler blue back including the decks. 982 stamped on the trailer. “DINKY TOYS DELIVERY SERVICE” lettering is complete on both sides and back. No window glazing version. Note the 20 mph label at the rear – and in thicker print than usual, too.
This Transporter model looks as if it has been rarely taken out of its box. In virtually mint condition – an exceptional example.
The transition box, bearing both numbers at the ends, is strongly-coloured.
Note the crumple at one corner with a little separation at this site. Usual age/handling wear besides.
