C404M
Corgi 404M Bedford 'Dormobile' Personnel Carrier. Very near mint/boxed. Dusky turquoise issue with an UNPAINTED BASE & PUSH-FIT FRONT AXLE. PINK Corgi Club Membership Form. Scarce item from 'The Monty Calme' Corgi Collection.
Notes
Issued between 1956-60, this sought-after early mechanical Corgi commercial model is in original condition with a working flywheel motor. Presents well with an attractive original lustre in dusky turquoise.
Most unusual with this unpainted base. Note the push-fit front axle fitting too. More usually found with cast bosses for the axle to slide through. Note the lettering ‘BRITISH MADE’ either side of "CORGI TOYS’ and PATENT PENDING toward the rear.
Flat spun wheels and well-shaped, as-new original tyres. Tiny dot or two visible to the gimlet-eyed.
The powder blue picture box is complete, with a crisp feel. A little age wear only. No tears or graffiti. Corgi Club Membership Form in pink.
An interesting variation.
