C349
Pre-production Corgi 349 Mini Mostest Pop Art Mini in yellow. Never produced. Unique item with Provenance from Marcel Van Cleemput (Chief Designer for Corgi).
Notes
A landmark Corgi Collection covering the width and breadth of Corgi models amassed over decades by an exuberant collector. The Monty Calme collection is a truly astonishing gathering of the best of Corgi models and ephemera, including rare and unique pieces and point of sale items. The largest collection we have ever seen.
Reference from Mr. Van Cleemput; this Mini Mostest was part of a small pre-production run (1967) which was never released to the trade.
An exceptionally scarce item therefore, finished in pale lemon with detailed casting, suspension on spoked spun wheels:
‘Mostest’ lettering is complete on both sides.
Distinctive psychedelic labels are complete-very nearly complete throughout.
Authentic original item. As an unboxed item, this model has understandably picked up a few small chips along the way.
First offered for sale at Sotheby’s Auction House in 1999. Undeniably a model for the Corgi connoisseur, an exceptional investment piece, complete with copy of the Provenance letter which specifically refers to this item as well as other rare items (some of which are now part of ‘The Monty Calme Collection’).
