C252
Corgi 252 Rover 2000. Excellent/not individually boxed. Affixed to the original Cigarette Presentation Case. A very rare Corgi Presentation Model commissioned by The Rover Motor Company, October 1963.
Notes
The second example we have ever handled. This is an exciting find!
In October 1963, the Rover Motor Company commissioned a small quantity of gold-plated cars to coincide with the launch and to give away to VIPs, including press and export distributors.
This is one of the original models still mounted on its presentation cigarette case made of wood with a ‘marble’ lift-off lid, and ‘leather’ base. The underside of the lid has a smaller ‘marble’ section with the original label still in place:
No cigarettes inside the box now. The model is in excellent condition with a few chips.
A wonderful talking point in your collection. Very few have to come to light, although there is an example on display in The National Heritage Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
