Notes

A landmark Corgi Collection covering the width and breadth of Corgi models amassed over decades by an exuberant collector. The Monty Calme collection is a truly astonishing gathering of the best of Corgi models and ephemera, including rare and unique pieces and point of sale items. The largest collection we have ever seen.
This is a close-to-mint, all original and complete example; the first issue version with the rare green Bentley.
Issued between 1966-69, this set would have been released at the start of the production run.
The set comprises:
1)John Steed’s Bentley in green and black finish, correct for this set with red metal wire wheels. Complete with all parts, and including the figure of John Steed at the wheel. In virtually mint condition (most would say mint!). Fine original tyres.

2) Emma Peel’s Lotus Elan S2 is in sparkling white finish. Very near mint with a few little dots. Suspension on shaped spun wheels. Fine original tyres. Original figure of Emma Peel.

Three original plastic umbrellas. So often they can go astray, particularly bearing in mind how small they are and how they were never stored in a packet but merely slotted into holes on the plinth. So many that we see have (pretty decent) replacements but they do lack the fine detailing of the originals. These originals have the furling details to the ?rolled-up? cloth part of the umbrella and delicate details on the handle, fine point at the base. Little details perhaps but really nice to see!

Inner card plinth is bright and complete and vividly-coloured.

Some minor age grubbiness and a couple of little wheel slot tears. Note that one of the pull tabs has been carefully re-attached now.
The colourful card outer box is complete and bright. Minor age wear and note that one large end flap has a tiny edge tear.
No graffiti.
Notably complete with the original wrap-around card packing piece and Corgi Club Membership Form.
