Notes

A landmark Corgi Collection covering the width and breadth of Corgi models amassed over decades by an exuberant collector. The Monty Calme collection is a truly astonishing gathering of the best of Corgi models and ephemera, including rare and unique pieces and point of sale items. The largest collection we have ever seen.

This is the second issue with suspension of the scarce Racing Cars Set. Issued between 1962-63. It comprises:
1) Corgi 150s Vanwall Racing Car, in bright red finish. Racing number 25 transfer is fine. Vanwall lettering is complete. Driver. Intact screen. Shiny spun wheels. Mint.
2) Corgi 151 Lotus XI Le Mans Racing Car. Vivid blue finish with dark red interior. Shiny flat spun wheels. In near mint condition, with intact headlights, screen and driver. Red seats. Racing number 7. Clean, fresh-looking transfer, although note the little nick. Small light scuff head-on. Very near mint.
3) Corgi 152s B.R.M. Formula 1 Grand Prix Racing Car in turquoise with flat spun wheels with suspension. Very near mint condition with a complete racing number and Union Jack flag on the bonnet. Driver, intact screen.
A delightful trio with fine original tyres and a wonderful lustre to the original paint finish!

The polystyrene upper and lower packing pieces are nearly always found with heavy wear. This example has fared better than most with a very minor split in one small area (easily overlooked).

The outer box is complete. Grubbiness and age wear. Little puncture in the lid has pressed back into place. Complete original ‘5S’ label at an end flap. Informative Leaflet is included along with two sets of wheel trims. Membership Form is included.
