D412
Dinky 30J/412 Austin Wagon. DEEP CHOCOLATE (not reddish) MAROON with red wheels. Very, very near mint/boxed. Scarce. From The Reference Collection.
Notes
A real shining gem of a Dinky truck finished in rich ‘chocolate ’maroon (not reddish-maroon) with red ridged wheels.
A beautiful, gleaming , all-original finish on this delightful smaller commercial truck – this example in the dual-numbered box, marks the transition from the older 30J numbering to the ’new’ 412 numbering which occurred during 1954.
Shiny base and metal parts generally. Smooth original tyres are well-shaped.

Couple of mere dots away from mint (probably as-made).
The more unusual dual-numbered box is bright and complete. Correct colour spot. A little age grubbiness and light handling wear. Tiny end flap tear. Shopkeeper’s price is pencilled at an end flap.
