D571
Dinky 571 Coles Mobile Crane. Near mint plus/boxed. Early example in dark blue box with picture label. U.S. export Hudson Dobson label. From The East Netherlands Collection.
Notes
A complete and original example of this classic Dinky Supertoy made between 1949-54. This is the early issue, later it was renumbered 971. Correct that this early issue example has brass winding handle cuffs ( rather dulled now) . In close to mint condition with barely a mark to the all original vivid shining orange-yellow and matt black finish. It presents very well with the original driver and operable crane (all parts functioning well), and well-shaped, supple ridged tyres.
Shiny base has minor ’spidering, and a little tarnished area.
The early vivid deep blue box *is a fitting partner with vibrant, unfaded colours throughout and a complete paper label. Note that this particular example was exported to the U.S. and so it has *the (early) red Hudson Dobson label on one side of the lid. Some rusting/staining to the staples. Tiny wear besides. Note that this example has the original packing including the card packing ‘block’ too.
A nice early model from Dinky’s heyday.
