FD32D
French Dinky 32D Delahaye Turntable Fire Engine. Near mint plus/boxed. Early issue with diecast wheels. Lovely box with all inner packing and both leaflets. The first French Dinky Supertoy! First we have seen with A PERIOD PROMOTIONAL TAG. From The French Dinky section of The Reference Collection.
Notes
Early issue made between 1955-59, this sought-after French Dinky Fire Engine is one of the first French Dinky Supertoys! 1:55 scale.
This Turntable Fire Engine is in all original and complete condition with a bright red and silver finish, red convex wheels and a bright baseplate with 32D stamped.
Just a little minor rust staining on the extending ladder. Bright winding handles and baseplate. Original ‘M’ for Meccano stamped clean,, well-shaped white tyres.
Occasional very minor mark/dot to the paint finish and note the smudge of (factory) silver low down on one side.
The striped picture box is complete and brightly-coloured with no seam tears or repairs. Looks clean and fresh. Nice to see that this example is complete with deep yellow (early) packing insert, along with the often-missing additional card packing piece with ‘TIREZ’ (i.e. pull) printed. 2 leaflets are included too (not often seen with both), and we think that the period promotional tag adds to the charm!
Dinky factory Quality Control stamp on the inside of the lid. Just a little mark on the lid, and tiny shelf rubbing to the base.
(Both later issues of this model are also present in this collection).
