D162
Dinky 162 Ford Zephyr Saloon. Near mint plus/boxed. DEEP GREEN & PALE GREENISH-CREAM issue. From a collection in Berlin.
Notes
With an all original paint finish in deep green and a greenish-cream, and fawn hubs. A fine Dinky car made between 1956-60.
Bright base (minor ‘spidering’) and the smooth-running original tyres are a touch grubby now.
The top half is quite an unusual shade and certainly distinctly different from the other colour version (also present in this collection). Shown here for comparison:
Occasioanl minor body line rub and note the minor bleed of colour where the two colours meet (in a couple of places only). The box lis very crisp, if slightly grubby, now. Correct colour code at the end flaps, since this model was also available in two-tone blue. Period shopkeeper’s pencilled price at an end flap and one box face.
