C492
Corgi 492 Volkswagen European Police Car. Near mint plus/boxed. From The Renos Louka Collection
Notes
A collection some 20 years in the making. Renos Louka from Virginia Water, Surrey specialised in Film & TV models. His interest was due to his occupation of supplying camera and lighting equipment to the film, TV and broadcast industry.
Issued between 1966-69, this VW Police Car has an original deep green and white finish, bright chrome bumpers, base, and blue roof light surround. Steering mechanism on the roof. ‘True Scale Steering’ mechanism works perfectly. Complete ‘POLIZEI’ labels on one side, mere dot to the other. Complete "POLIZEI’ label at the rear. Jewelled headlights. As-new tyres.
A little casting mark on the bonnet and a chip at a wheel arch. Negligible dot or two besides.
The pictorial card box is really crisp and fresh with no tears or graffiti. Bright colours and the silky card shows minimal handling. Period price at an end flap.
