Notes

This collector wanted only the best examples in his collection ? always a discerning buyer of the finest examples he could find. After over 25 years, he has now decided to part with items from his own extensive collection.
This is one of them.

This attractive Gift Set was inspired by the t.v. show ‘The Avengers’ and is in very close to perfect condition, issued between 1966-69.
It comprises:
1) John Steed’s Bentley in red and black finish, complete with all parts, and including the figure of John Steed at the wheel. Very near mint condition.

Occasional minute edge rub to the black running boards.

2) Emma Peel’s Lotus Elan S2 is in bright, white finish. Near mint condition with a couple of small marks on one side and a couple of smaller marks at the rear bumper. Suspension on shaped spun wheels. Supple, well-shaped original tyres. Original figure of Emma Peel.

This set comes with three plastic umbrellas! These are notably the originals – so often they can go astray, particularly bearing in mind how small they are and how they were never stored in a packet but merely slotted into holes on the plinth. So many that we see have (pretty decent) replacements but they do lack the fine detailing of the originals. These originals have the furling details to the ‘rolled-up’ cloth part of the umbrella and delicate details on the handle, fine point at the base. Little details perhaps but really nice to see!
Inner card plinth is in excellent condition with bright graphics on crisp card. Couple of minor wheel slot tears and minor grubbiness besides. Notably both the pull tabs at the ends are present and intact (often torn off or missing).

Outer box is complete and bright with quite a crisp feel. Minor age/storage wear but no tears or graffiti. Period price label at an end flap.

Comes complete with the card packing piece and Corgi Club Membership Form.
