Notes
This collector wanted only the best examples in his collection ? always a discerning buyer of the finest examples he could find. After over 25 years, he has now decided to part with items from his own extensive collection.
This is one of them.
A classic sought-after Dinky Studebaker Tanker (early issue 1954-58) with an eye-catching day-one vivid sheen. In all original condition, and a harder version to find with intact dark blue ‘MOBILGAS’ lettering on a cream background and complete ‘MOBIL’ lettering and logo at the rear. Merest suggestion of a rub to one of the silver raised domes on the roof, the others are fine. Nearly always found more heavily rubbed.
Shiny silver trim.
A beautiful, day-one bright glossy finish. Complete, unmarked delicate transfers throughout.
Shiny base (minor ‘spidering’) and the pliant, original tyres are well-shaped.
Small mark or two away from absolutely mint.
The picture box is complete and brightly-coloured. Minor age wear only. Faint remains of a period price at an end flap. Little shelf rub on the box underside.
