C261
Corgi 261 James Bond's Aston Martin D.B.5. Very near mint (one damaged tyre)/boxed. Early issue, complete with all original accessories and additional colour leaflet found with the earliest models off the production line. From the Renos Louka Collection.
Notes
A collection some 20 years in the making. Renos Louka from Virginia Water, Surrey specialised in Film & TV models. His interest was due to his occupation of supplying camera and lighting equipment to the film, TV and broadcast industry.
One of the most popular Corgi models ever, issued between 1965-69!
The James Bond Aston Martin is in all original condition with none of the reproduction accessories, rife with this issue.
The car is fully functioning, complete with Bond and villain. Deep lustrous gold finish and thankfully, this model does not have the almost obligatory chip on the roof. Suspension is notably fine on all four wheels.
Minor roof rub but hard to fault this beautiful paint finish otherwise. Do note that one of the tyres hasa small flat spot and a small surface split (would benfit from a replacement).
The plinth on which the model sits is bright and complete, with such vivid colours! Crisp. Couple of tears at a wheel slot.
The Instruction Packet has been carefully opened and inside there are the all-important Secret Instructions which detail the retractable machine guns, opening roof and ejector seat, rear bullet screen and telescopic over-riders.
All have been tested and work perfectly! The packet also contains the unapplied 007 badge, and the spare villain.
This is an early issue, so it includes the additional colour promotional leaflet, too.
The early style outer box is most impressive with very vivid deep colours and a lovely silky feel to the barely handled card. Note the shading detail around the lettering ASTON MARTIN DB5 on the box face (later examples would not have this) as well as the thick black border around the JAMES BOND?S lettering, too.
Period shop price label at an end flap.
Very nice !
