Gilbert James Bond's Aston Martin DB5. Sensational Japanese tinplate model. Working battery-operated functions! With James Bond figure (lacks villain). Very near mint/boxed (wear), with inner packing. From The Worcestershire Collection, largely comprising fine, classic sports and racing cars.
It has been a long while indeed since we have offered one of these high quality Japanese tinplate models for sale!
A real beauty and an absolute must for any serious James Bond enthusiast or Aston Martin collector, this iconic Aston Martin model is fully functioning and when batteries are inserted, it seems to come to life with a moving bullet-proof shield, machine guns extending, lighting up and firing, and crash bumpers extending and retracting. The model starts and stops automatically too. Extending tyre cutters and steering. All tested (thoroughly!) and working well. Since the villain is missing now we have not tested the ejecting mechanism but have no reason to susect tht it would not work.
Virtually flawless sleek silver finish on this beautiful example with lithograped interior. Measures 29cms. approx.
James Bond figure at the wheel but no villain to eject now and one of the shiny wing mirrors is rather loose.
The colurfully illustrated card lift-of lid box is a delight! The unmistakable Sean Connery is behind the wheel of the car. A little age wear to the card including a repaired tear. 2 originla polystyrene packig pieces are included. Box is dated 1965.
