This is a transition issue model, renumbered from 582 to 982 during 1955. The transporter has a light blue finish throughout, with deep fawn decks. 582 stamped on the trailer. “DINKY TOYS DELIVERY SERVICE” lettering on both sides and back – all in perfect condition. No window glazing version.
Complete with a fine black grille and bumper with both headlights present.

A nice all original example – and a familiar sight in many Dinky collections, although not with the dark fawn decks. Couple of small marks only and a suggestion of slight’ mottling’ to the blue paint finish in places.

The transition box, however, is one of the most unusual box presentations for any Dinky commercial model. This is just the third we have offered for sale in some twenty+ years and many collectors may be unfamiliar with this plain, deep blue, lift-off lid box with the Dinky label at one end bearing the dual numbering for this model. The end label is incomplete now.
However, generally , the box has excellent strong colours. Handling wear and rubbing at edges. Couple of small seam separations. Pencilled writing inside the lid (84 Dinkys) and a period price of 14/6 on the label. A little wear besides.
A very difficult version to find.
