C497
Corgi 497 The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Thrushbuster. Near mint plus/boxed. Dark purplish-blue issue with Waverley ring. Monochrome plinth and plastic spotlights. Wrap-around packing card, circular packing piece and colourful circular packing too. Virtually SHOP-FRESH OUTER BOX!
Notes
Issued between 1966-69, this Oldsmobile car has a gleaming, deep purple-blue finish, bright and complete bonnet logo (tiniest age transparency), bright chrome parts, detailed cast wheels. If you press the roof periscope the figure moves from side to side to shoot the enemy! This is the more difficult to find version with plastic chromed spotlights (to dazzle the enemy!). Fine tread original tyres with ‘Corgi Toys’ embossed.
Couple of small marks head-on and the occasional very small mark besides.
So often lost or replaced with a copy, this Thrushbuster comes with its original Waverley ring. Changing image on the ring face of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin.
Small rub to the ring sides caused by box contact.
The colourful card plinth is fresh and bright, with a little minor wear and tear at wheel slots.
Lovely vibrant graphics! Correct that this version with plastic spotlights has the monochrome card plinth on which the car sits.
Comes complete with the colourful circular card packing piece along with the plain circular card ring.
Lots of info about the U.N.C.L.E organisation on box reverse as well as pictures and signatures of the T.V. series protagonists.
The outer box is bright and complete, with a crisp feel to the card. Very, very nice! Looks close to shop-fresh! Includes the original card wrap-around packing piece too.
