C261
Corgi 261 James Bond's Aston Martin D.B.5. Brightest gold issue. Very near mint/boxed. 2nd issue without shaded box detail. Still-sealed Instruction Packet.
Notes
We are especially delighted to offer one of the most popular Corgi models ever, issued between 1965-69.
The James Bond Aston Martin is in all original condition with none of the reproduction accessories, rife with this issue.
The car is fully functioning, complete with both figures. It has a lustrous bright yellow-gold finish – an especially attractive example:
A small, light mark roof centre (as is so often the case). Roof closes well. Suspension is fine on all four wheels. Origibal tyres look as-new.
The plinth on which the model sits is in virtually pristine condition – with very vivid colours. Just one minor wheel slot tear.
The Instruction Packet has never been opened:
so inside there are the all important Secret Instructions which detail the retractable machine guns, opening roof and ejector seat, rear bullet screen and telescopic over-riders.
All have been tested and work perfectly! The packet will also contain the unapplied 007 badge, and the spare villain.
The 2nd issue outer box is most impressive with very vivid deep colours and a lovely silky feel to the barely handled card. Note that since it is 2nd issue there is no shading detail around the lettering ASTON MARTIN DB5 on the box face and no thick black border around the JAMES BOND’S lettering, too.
Small stain at one end and the tiniest of tears to an end flap edge. Small puncture to one of the little end flaps caused by the over-riders.
A piece of Corgi history, a sound investment, and a nostalgic treat which is hard to resist!
