D152
Dinky 152 Austin Devon Saloon. Scarce blue & yellow issue. Near mint/boxed. From a beautiful, single-owner collection, some 25 years in the making.
Notes
This collector wanted only the best examples in his collection ? always a discerning buyer of the finest examples he could find. After over 25 years, he has now decided to part with items from his own extensive collection.
This is one of them.
These two-tone classic Dinky cars are increasingly difficult to find. This example presents very well with a bright and unfaded mid-blue upper and deep yellow lower paint finish. Issued between 1956-59.
Bright base (minor ‘spidering’) and supple, original, well-shaped treaded tyres.
Obviously barely out of its box. Note the little partial thumb print in the paint at a rear wing (car handled when paint not quite dry). Note too that there are 3 factory touch-ins to the paint finish. Perfect colour match (naturally!) and typical factory daubs of paint.
The box is clean and complete, with a crisp feel. Resistant end flap. Storage crush and a thumb (partial) tear at a small end flap seam. Correct colour spot. 1953 is neatly pencilled at an end flap.
