L1
Lesney Massey-Harris 745 Tractor. Early large scale model. Very near mint/boxed. Rare model from a lifetime collector in Devon, England.
Notes
Rare to come to the market place, this splendid large scale early Lesney Tractor model has been released from a private collection after some 30 years or so. Cherished and well-stored, this model deserves a place at the centre-piece of your collection.
Hard to imagine the small-scale Matchbox models that followed, this Lesney heavyweight measures approximately 19.5 cms.
Finished in such a vibrant, gleaming bright red with gold trim, steering front wheels and notably both chimney stacks. Well-preserved, supple, original tyres and deep fawn metal wheels. Gold trim, white accents to the Massey-Harris lettering/745D numbering.
Reluctant to fault it, please note that you may find a negligible mark or two to the finish, and there is a minor rub to the chimney stack gold top. MInute scrutiny reveals a subtle dab of paint at the tip of the detachable chimney stack.
Rarely found with its box, this colourfully illustrated end flap-style card box has some of the expected wear. Some ruffling/light handling wear (occasional grubby mark, edge rubbing, creasing), and a small puncture on a non-picture side has pressed back into place. A few little end flap tears. Most of a period price label remains at an end flap.
Issued 1948-50.
