D986
Dinky 986 Mighty Antar Low Loader with Propeller. Near mint plus/boxed. Scarce DEMOUNTABLE issue with window glazing & packing pieces. A first for QDT! From The Heart of England Collection.
Notes
The first we have offered for sale! This ia a desirable Dinky commercial model – and usually missing from the most comprehensive of Dinky collections. This rare version with windows is demountable and was made toward the end of the run (1959-61).
With a bright red prime mover (often found sunfaded!), pale grey trailer and complete with the original, bronze-coloured, plastic ‘Scimitar’ propeller (tiny nick in the label) on a brown plastic pallet. A few little marks on the prime mover and one little mark on the grey back. This model is in all original condition and has survived very well indeed. An impressive model on display in all original condition:
The large striped Supertoys box is complete and brightly-coloured with both upper and lower packing pieces (no tears). A little light coffee or tea staining on the lid and a small edge scuff. No graffiti, box repairs or tears. Remains of an old price label is just about visible at a box lid end and a period price is lightly written with a little red line through it.
Rare to come to the market place.
