C438
Corgi 438 Land-Rover. Scarce dark green version with olive textured canopy - early issue. Very, very near mint/boxed. From a large, stunning diverse collection with many items in old shop stock condition.
Notes
From one of the largest, private collections we have ever seen, with many items bought new at the time and stored away until now. Taken as a whole, the collection provides an exciting, kaleidoscopic snapshot of popular diecast toys issued during the 1960?s -1970?s.
In completely unused condition, this Land Rover looks like old shop stock in its pristine fresh box!
First made during 1963, this first issue has a lustrous deep green finish, a more unusual find with an olive textured canopy, lemon interior, metal towhook. Suspension on shaped spun wheels.
If you want to fault it, you could note the stray light factory flick of silver above the front bumper on one side. Under very strong light, the paint finish (which is obviously original) has a subtle ‘two-tone’ finish in places on the roof. As-made, and hard to notice.
