C200
Corgi 200 Ford Consul Saloon. Very near mint (tarnishing to base)/boxed (in early blue picture box). Scarce two colour issue in oyster over bright green. From The Somerset Collection.
Notes
The first Corgi Toys model issued – this car was made between 1956-61; the very first one colour examples would have been sold in the all blue card boxes.
This particular version is finished in a distinctive oyster shade with a bright green lower half, flat spun wheels. All original. Couple of mere dots and a little casting mark on a rear wing. None of the expected rubbing at side body lines or chipping at front and rear bumpers, so this Consul presents extremely well with a beautiful original lustre.
Some base tarnishing however. A little surface crazing to one tyre. All four original tyres run well.
The early blue picture box is extremely crisp with resistant end flaps, showing minimal handling. Fresh with strong colours. Hard to find these early boxes this good!
