DGS201
Dinky Gift Set 201 Racing Cars Set. Very near mint-mint/boxed. Pristine plinth, outer box wear. A scarce set from The Worcestershire Collection.
Notes
Issued between 1965-68, this is a rare find!
It comprises:
1) D240 Cooper
2) D241 Lotus
3) D242 Ferrari
4) D243 B.R.M.
The racing cars are in * very near mint-mint condition*; the green Lotus has a little speckling to the racing numbers and a small nick to the door racing numbers. Each racing car has spun wheels, intact screen, drivers with silver helmets.
All models are still fixed to the delightful, virtually pristine decorative card insert with racetrack scene and four original figures. Negligible tear to one of the card tabs. Turn the card insert upside down and you will see that all four cars have the plastic fixing pieces and original elastic bands fixing them to the inner. Presumed never removed from the box.
The comparatively flimsy card and cellophane window box is complete and intact, if rather grubby in places now.
Some inevitable wear to a box comprising of an expanse of cellophane! Original cellophane is intact but has been re-fitted into place at a later date (since the glue tends to dry out with the passage of time). Traces of the original tape keeping the box end flaps closed may be seen. Small area of surface loss at an end flap. Little tear at an end flap seam. Plain white Dinky label at an end flap is complete.
Rare to come to the market place.
